I have been thinking of trading up to an 05-06 F350, Diesel, King Ranch, Crew Cab, Dually.
My question is this: I've noticed that the King Ranch models have bucket seats front and rear. So it seems there are only enough room for the driver and 3 passengers. Is this correct? or can those seat's somehow swivel back or something to create a fifth and possibly sixth seat?? My present F250 Lariat has bench's and can accomodate 6 total. So losing the 2 extra seats is a little disappointing. Also, is the King Ranch worth the extra cost?
same dilemma here as I have 4 kidlets, so I got the lariat different leather on the seats is abought the only difference, oh yeah the extra $4000.00! I almost forgot that.
Yeah, seems like badging and the leather are the only real difference, not to mention the $4000................ I might stick with the Lariat for the bench's. Gonna go tomorrow and take a look to see what's out there. So far looks like the going prices they are asking for is around $36K for an 06' F350 CC, PSD.
My KR has a back bench...so you can get them either way.
With the captain's chairs up front and the bench in the back, you can haul driver plus four. I just took a crew on a whitewater rafting trip and we seated 3 full sized adults in the back comfortably.
You'll have to go with a Lariat or lower trim if you want the 40/20/40 front bench. With a family, I would recommend it. You never know when one of your munchkins will want to take a friend.
Thanks for the replies. I did some research and went to the dealership yesterday..... ostensibly to look for an 05'-06'.......but end up seriously thinking about a brand spanking new 08. They are looking to locate an 08' F350, Dually, 6.4L Diesel, King Ranch, Moonroof and NAV in Black for me. The King Ranch comes standard with front buckets and the rear bench. There is an optional King Ranch upgrade called Quad Captains Chairs which gives you the rear buckets as well. Took a test drive with my wife in the exact one (but in white) that I am looking for and it rides great!!! The PSD is quiet and very strong (dual turbos) My question is about the new ultra low sulfur diesel that the new PSD's require. I hope that is the kind of diesel being sold as a standard. I would hate to have to run around looking not only for diesel, but for ULSD. Thanks for the replies, and I will update on how my search/purchase goes.

Most of the gas stations here in Nashville have changed to ULSD. Citgo, Chevron, Exxon, Mapco, BP, and even Walmart's Murphy Oil all have ULSD. The Shell stations around here still have the LSD, so I can't buy there. It is funny to see the price difference in diesel at different stations though. The Citgo up the street charges $2.99 a gallon and the Walmart 2 miles away charges $2.79. That's a $6.00 difference when you buy it 30 gallons at a time. Just enough for a cup of joe at Starbucks!
