The RPM limiter kicks in at 4200 RPM on a rig that is completly stock and only has 27000 miles on it. Makes it tough when you punch it on the freeway to get out of trouble and the transmission won't shift into high because the limiter is engauged. You must let off the gas to get it to shift. Thats why I would like to know where to start to correct this problem. Is the limiter too low or is the transmission shifting wrong.

What if I have a bad rpm sending unit, where ever that may be, most likely on the ignition module, feeding the computer bad info. I presume that a superchip would suffer from the same bad info. Thats is why I need to know what the current computer's value is to enguage the rpm limiter.
If the unit was bad the vehicle would run like crap. It basically would go into open loop operation. The computer uses a combination of speed, RPM, gear and throttle position to pull timing data from a 3 dimensation table. If you had a repair or part defect problem without a chip it would be there with it as well.
