so i just recently changed the oil i would say about 4-5 days ago and now i have and oil leak at first i thought it would be the oil drain plug because thats were it looked to be leaking but after tighting and cleanin the oil that had leaked out it looks to be coming from were the dip-stick meets the oil pan... so i went down to the dealership and got the two o-rings ...so my question is has anyone on here had to change an o-ring in the same spot and what is needed to do this ...?

And is there a reason why this happen ....thanxs in advance
I dont have much to say except you might want to "HOPE" thats where its leaking from and not the dipstick flange. Mine is leaking from the flange, and ive been using JB Weld to fix it, until it stops leaking. WHen i change the oil i put a new coat of JB weld on it. Im NOT pulling a motor to fix the flange.
I belive to change those orings you just pull the dipstick tube out and replace the the orings. There is one bolt holding the tube on. Its located on the valve cover. Can't miss it.
well i hope thats it because the valve covers dont look wet/oily like the area were the dip stick actually is inserted into the oil pan and im not worried if i have to redo my oil change as long as its fixed as far as that one bolt i kinda thought that was the only bolt... well i just hope thats all it is
so yeah it was the dipstick flange and like u said im not taken out the engine to do that i losened it up and cleaned off the oil and put some high temp silicone and screwed it back together hope it stops now...
i've got this same problem, but i don't get why you have to take out the block to get to that piece. Most of these posts say that you do, but it doesn't look like you have to when i'm under there. Can someone explain?
Just wondered if anyone has tried "gas tank sealer" instead of jb weld. I tried to fix a pinhole in a gas tank with jb once and it just leaked through. I put a coat of the gas tank sealer (looks just like jb) and did the trick. I might be a better product to cover that leak.
