Nothing wrong with a 1 ton but it`s a 1 ton with the dumb 17 '' wheels/tires/split rims and the awful ride...
Half tons are neater, more adaptable, much easier to rod/customize and in general more in demand.
The 53 M350 was ok but now sitting on an F100 frame totally it rocks.
He has later 16" rims on that truck. The front doesn't ride much rougher than the 1/2 tons. It's the rear suspension that doesn't move. When I drove mine around the yard and field. I would say it didn't ride any rougher than my Dad's 91 F-250. You also have to remember they increased payload capacity on the F-350 in 1953 which is why it's a F-350 instead of F-300. Bigger than a F-3 but smaller than an F-4.
Preppy, It's a longbox.
