Re-Flash??

Hey Ken,

Sorry to bother you but I have a question for you.

I bought the Diablo last year for my truck, 01SD,5.4 ,auto, running 35's with 3:73.

Springtime , I will be bolting on 38" tires, re gearing to 4:30's or 4:56.
I remeber Abendx needing the tru speed to calibrate the speedo and was just wondering if that is still the case?

Also how much to re code the chip for my latest mods?

Thanks Ken!!

Re-Flash??

With the 5.4, we can compensate for the tires and gearing. The V10, we can't (although it took Superchips and Diablo an eternity to admit it).

For pricing, see the custom coding row at http://motorhaven.autoanything.com/Web_store/Html/chipfaq.html#difference

This is a chart I put together describing the differences between the various tuning products.

With Diablo, once you pay a custom fee, all future customs are free (except shipping).

Re-Flash??

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 28-Oct-02 AT 12:53 PM (EST)]Ken,

Thanks for the info, one more question.

Since I run stock 265's (31's) for the winter about 6 months and then I will run the 38"s for 6 months would I be better off haveing two chips?
Or what a bout a micro tuner? Open to suggestions...

Thanks again

If you change tires alot the tuner is the way to go. :-) Two chips would be a hassle. If the most horse power is what you want, you may want to consider a Diablo Delta chip with two tire sizes.

Re-Flash??

How does the Delta work with two tire sizes?

And/Or

Will the tuner give me added hp, stiffer shifts and allow adjustment for tire changes?

Thanks

We would have tune for each tire size.

Probably note. Diablo's tend to be more agreesive. You oughta see what we have for GM now (yeah, I know, its a dirty word!). The Predator is downright cool. Just got our first shipment in.

Not what I wanted to hear

Ok, can I run the chip I have now with the tru speed?

I just want to keep the hp that I have with the chip and make tire swaps easy as far as the speedo goes.

Thanks
