IAC or What?
I have a 1999 W/ 122,000 miles great sound truck. Here lately I can start it up and it wil not idle but about 200 - 500 RPM. It will not do it all the time If I start it up 5 times a day it will do it maybe three times.
The Service Engine light is on. Could this be something besides the IAC Valve. If so can a Novice clean the IAC Valve, is something posted here that gives the steps??

You need to check your codes. A bad IAC does not throw a code (at least on a 98). Yes you can clean a IAC and re-install it. With your miles I would replace it. You can use the search tab above and I think you will find several that have cleaned their IAC and kept on trucking.
