Free Programer
Hey guys, Long time no talk! Hey i got a new job and my boss gave me a superchips programmer for a 94-03 7.3. Thats my dads years. But he said it might be vin locked. So i pluged it in and it is. I called superchips and there very helpfull staff 
said a bunch of bull crap that i couldnt understand. So i agreed and hung up. Now what do i have to do to unlock this thing! He said something about having a dealer order or something like that to get it unlocked for free. if not then its 200 bucks. I work at a dealership so what should i do? I know superchips aint the best but hey, It was free! And its not my truck its going on.

Only superchips or a superchips dealer can get it unlocked. They do it to protect their business, so someone can't put tunes on multiple vehicles with the same tuner. Basically, you're screwed unless you can find the engine that it's VIN locked to and swap out the stock program or convince a superchips dealer that you're the original owner of the tuner.

Yea that could work. He had it for trans command probably. When i pluged it into my truck it said trans command installed

If you plug it into the vin locked vehicle and return it to stock settings that will free up the tuner to put into another vehicle. Once a program is loaded it locks out to prevent the multiple vehicles etc.
