I know the alternator is making a lot of noise I sprayed some WD40 on the back bearing but it only works for a few minutes.
I don't want to change it cuz works good, it's only noisy any ideas?
I think the rear bearing is sealed?
How old is it, and have you checked it's output lately?
I don't know how old is it , came with the truck when I bought it about 3 months ago, yes works great and looks pretty shiny, no need to replace it yet, if I could only get rid of that noise!!
The only thing you can do is disassemble it and replace the bearings. You'll probably have a hard time finding the parts though, plus you're at high risk of damaging something else while you've got it apart.
It's really probably more cost effective to just purchase a rebuilt alternator (plus you'll get a warranty with it).
There's not much these days worth rebuilding yourself.
