Hello

Hello Folks,

I have been a member for a short while on F150 Online and was refered here for additional information on my 2006 V10 F250 with the piging situation coming from the exhaust.

Anyway, just a simple Hello to everyone and I'll add more to my profile soon...

Sincerely,

P.J.

Hi Pagnew and welcome to FTE!

My 2007 5.4 does the same thing. It is annoying but harmless. There is a TSB on the pinging noise if it really annoys you.

Thanks Redford...had the warranty repair done back in September, but alas..it still pings and such. It is annoying. I may ask them to try again otherwise I'll have to accept as 'nature of the beast'. Regards...

Do you mean pinging as in the creaking noise it makes after you shut it down?

In my case, the noise isn't annoying enough to let the dealer mess with my truck.

Hi Krewat...the pinging is loud enough to be heard when going 25mph in a residential. It's kinda like the cat converter sound pinging when you turn off your car. It's just that you hear this sound louder than normal and when driving. As mentioned it may be the nature of the beast...

Thanks for the welcome ryaneverk2

Pretty funny Krewat Could be, but it's the same sound when the truck is parked and then turned off...

Good one though!

Check the welds on the exhaust shields but they usually just make noise when running.

hydro-37 & countermaker...yup, that's all it is, just louder than my friends Chevy and he loves to rib me about it - though he really likes my truck. If the dealer is willing to try fixing it again I'll give it a shot and let y'all know...

Keep cool...

What's the world without a little brevity?

That's totally strange...
