Rewiring 36 pickup

Any one know what the 3 16 gauge wires are on the ignition switch, it appears to be out of a torino about a 70-72?? they are'nt hooked to anything just hanging there. Also is no 12 wire heavy enough for the headlight wiring it is converted to sealed beams.
Thanks DD

The three wires should be power, to Ignition Resistance Unit and gauges.

Here is a wiring diagram for a 1938.

And the switch on a 1941.

12 gauge will be plenty for the headlights.

They are:
Proof #1, Red-white stripe goes to the Hot Warning Lamp.
Proof #2, Purple-white stripe goes to the Dual Brake Warning Switch.
Ground, Black.

P1 & P2 are connected to the ground wire when in the start position.

These wires are for checking the Lamps condition.

Do you need a diagram of the plug?

Thanks, no I have to cut the harness off and feed my fuse panel and start sol. and ign. I will not be using these wires I'll just have to cap them off to prevent shorts.
Thanks again DD

Here is a link to a diagram of the wiring that you may be using then.
