Okay, so I have a leak in my Slave Cylinder, so as you have to remove the tranny to change it, and I do not know how many miles are on my clutch, I think that I will just do the whole thing. I work at Schucks, and started to price things out, but I was not happy. All that I can get at work is the stock setup. So, what brands, styles do yall' have, how much was it, and what do you think of it? I have also been told that the flywheel cannot be turned and that it should be replaced if I am doing the clutch. This does not sound right to me, is it? Lastly, how heavy is that tranny/transfer case when I am dropping it to change the clutch? I have done a few, but I always had a lift, and they were all 2wd's. I figure that I will do the clutch set, flywheel, slave cylinder, and clutch master cylinder all at the same time. Any and all advise and opinions are very much welcome! By the way, 2001, F-250, 7.3, 6 speed, x-cab, long box, 4X4. Thanks.
I went with a Sound Bend Clutch. My first drive after the new clutch was installed I couldn't believe how light the clutch pedal was. It's almost as light as my jeep which is nice when I'm stuck in NJ and NYC bumper to bumper traffic.
I plan on a southbend clutch myself. Southbend has several clutches and if you're planning on modding would be an excellent choice. LUK clutches are also popular. I've been told a southbend is a modified luk for what it's worth.
SOUTHBEND CLUTCHES ESTIMATES
CON O 350 HP $650
CON OFE 400 HP $900
CON FE 550 HP $1000
you will also want to upgrade to their kevlar pilot bushing. Much more durable then stock.
Thanks, I will definatley look into them all. There are just so many choices, and the prices vary so much that I was not sure what to get. But, like I said, I definatley want to do the whole thing even if it is just the slave cylinder. So, what do you know about the flywheels? I was told that you have to get a new one, is that BS?
If i recall correctly, most of the kits that support more HP then just a stock replacement include a new flywheel in the $600ish price due to the fact that the new friction disc won't work with the stock flywheel. Any 6speed guys out there that can help me on that?
I have a six speed and i bought a Southbend, really easy people to work with. My best advise would be to give them a call, Carolina Clutch is a good place also... The install wasn't bad, the new clutch hooks up like a vise...
Correct me if I'm wrong guy's but I don't believe that you have to pull the tranny just to change a slave cylinder. I have been looking at the new Zoom clutches .

Confirmed.
The SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS TO GET A KEVLAR PILOT BUSHING. Sorry for yelling, but get a Kevlar pilot bushing now to replace your factory pilot bearing. That pilot bearing will fail and it will take parts with it. It's only a matter of time. By ordering it NOW you will have it sitting right there at the time of install. You can get it from the clutch suppliers. If they don't know what you're talking about, go somewhere else. I think I got mine from dial-a-clutch.
While you're in there, get:
Kevlar bushing (have I mentioned that one?)
New Fork
New Pivot (cheap plastic piece from Ford)
Optional New Master/Slave cyl assy, pre-bled from Ford for less than $150.
My LUK surprised me as well. I felt like I was going to push the clutch pedal through the floor it was sooo easy at first. It has since firmed up a bit, but not as hard to push as stock.
