N Fab nerf bars

For those who have the N Fab nerf bars, have you had a chance to bang them on rocks yet or support the vehicle on them? How have they held up? Did they bend your rocker panels?

I'm looking for rocker protection for fourwheeling and these are the best thing I've seen yet, but still don't look like they'd hold up very well if you slid into a rock or on top of one. I would consider making some and tying them into the frame but that frame is a long ways away from the body.

I have an 04 crew cab s/b with the stock plastic side steps.

Thanks

Ford has predrilled holes just above the pinchweld that most all manufactures attach to. You might bend the sheet metal around the brackets or the brackets themselves, but I doubt you will do much damage to cab.

Thinking about it, you may want to do it like the chevys and attach your bars to the body mounts. If possible replace the lower body mount bushings with polyeurathane so the bars don't have much flex available.

I have them on my truck, they are great!
I do miss my old running boards, a bit. Only because I sometimes need a bigger step out of my drivers side. I def like having the third step near the bed.
I have yet to bang them on any rocks.
You could look into some rock sliders
good luck!

Nobody makes rock sliders though and like mentioned before, the body is so far away I think it would put a lot of stress on the frame. I guess you could always bolt a bigger piece of flat steel to the pinch weld and then bolt the N Fab bars to that, might spread the weight out better.
