Need 460 swap info
I going to try and swap in 460 into my son's 79 Bronco. He was going to do it this summer but his stay in Iraq got extended. I want him to come home at Christmas and just be able to burn the tires off. We have a 78 F-150 2wd that the engine is coming out of. It's all complete. Already rebuild .40 over ,Edelbrock intake,carb,headers. I know I will need new mounts is L&L the best place to get them ? The Bronco has a 4" lift will I need to change oil pans ? I'm going to swap core supports to put the bigger radiator in the Bronco.Does the trans (C-6) just simply bolt up or is there something I need to know about that ? I know the starter and dizzy are the same. I guess my biggest concern is mounting the engine the proper way . Thanks for your help.

This question belongs in the swaps section but I can help you out.. Jeff's Bronco Grave Yard is a great place to get the motor mounts that you need. You will need to get a new oil pan also and the grave yard has that as well. I presume that the bronco has a 351M in it already, so yes the tranny will bolt right up. Good luck and I hope your son has a safe return. I just returned from Iraq myself, I know how he feels!! I know he will be happy to come home to his truck!
