Don't know how accurate the article is, but if true, good for Ford. Don't want to see arguably the best truck maker in the USA or maybe the world struggling.
Rather interesting. I question the profit quoted in the article though. The only way I could see Ford making $17,000 for a truck--even considering the more expensive trim levels like Lariat, King Ranch, and Harley-Davidson--is if they are looking at people that finance through Ford Motor Credit.
That is good news, but I wonder how much of the increase in f250 up sales is a result of loss in sales of the large E series vans.
For those of you who missed the other thread, Ford is unable to fit the 6.4L in the E series Super Duty Van right now, so all ambulance and other service type van manufacturers are having to go to either a F250+ truck chassis, or a different manufacturer.
A friend rented the Ford Edge for a road trip we went on. The GF drove it as did I, very fun little vehicle, lot's of power and very nimble. She is looking to get one with the AWD.
The fusion is another seemingly good little ride that is getting nice reviews. I wanted to rent one on a business trip, but got stuck with a chevy crappy SUV with tranny whine and smelled like some socks died in it.
These are just my opinions, but I do like what I see in the cars and crossovers for daily drivers etc. Obviously I love my SD, but I think my driveway would look good with another Ford in it for hauling kids and picking up groceries.
