They are more than most aftermarket coolers, but they are huge. Ford and ebay i think are the only places. Maybe BTS can give ya a better price. They used to be only 100$ until people heard about them now sometimes you can get them cheaper at fords. Ranges between 150$+ on ebay and i think fords is 300$.
BTS charged me $325 for the cooler and necessary fittings and such and a free install for the 6.0 cooler. Trans temps have not been over 150, usually more around 130.
It almost looks like a radiator. Yeah these guys aren't kidding, it's worth the price, whatever you pay. At what temp DOES the trans work best, does anyone know? Any magical number where it performs the best but still stays warm enough to not be "cold"?
Thanks guys. I went to my friends junk yard and I ended up with a V-10 cooler, it's a shame cause he gave it to me. I'll keep looking.
Since the 6.0 is much taller, is rerouting the cooler lines a pain?

BUMPED
Are they? A friend of mine may be able to get his hands on one and I've got a few questions myself.
Is it a direct bolt in?
Or do you have to move a few things around?
What is the proper operaitng temp? (trying not to keep things too cool)
The 6.0 cooler is 1/2" hose barb ends, your stock 7.3 has 3/8" cooler lines, so you need fitting to get from one size to the other. I also found that 90* elbows were handy because the 6.0 lines come straight out the bottom and by the time I adapted to 3/8" lines straight lines made a pretty sharp bend.
Hey Clux thanks. I have not looked at it yet just got the cooler at work and truck is at home.
Do the lines thread into the stock tranny and I need an adapter to go on the lines that has 1/2" barb ends and rubber hose to the 6.0 cooler or is it already rubber hose and I need to change the stock to 1/2" barb? NAPA?
The cooler has 1/2" aluminum hose barbs that are part of the cooler, they are not removable. So what I used was a short piece of 1/2" hydraulic hose on the cooler to a 1/2" hose barb with male pipe threads on the other end, a street elbow, and a 3/8" hose barb with female threads on the other end.
