CHI 400 intake...

just saw this....Tim - will you be first to baptize this piece? I foresee big number s in the future for the 400. Notice the "Engine Masters" tag line - i am sure this was done to insure its legality in the upcoming contest. This might be a real strong combo..

I have 2 on order with 3V-225 heads. One of the intakes already has a home on a 434 that will be going to Iceland.
Customer said they have 98 oct fuel, so we may be pushing the 14:1 comp ratio. Our goal is to break 600 HP and /or torque.

And yes there will be plenty of pictures & details on the build.

Would that intake work with the stock heads or just CHI ones?

but do they calculate octane the same way in iceland?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octane_rating

In most countries (including all of Europe and Australia) the "headline" octane that would be shown on the pump is the RON, but in the United States, Canada and some other countries the headline number is the average of the RON and the MON, sometimes called the Anti-Knock Index (AKI), Road Octane Number (RdON), Pump Octane Number (PON), or (R+M)/2. Because of the 8 to 10 point difference noted above, this means that the octane in the United States will be about 4 to 5 points lower than the same fuel elsewhere: 87 octane fuel, the "regular" gasoline in the US and Canada, would be 91-92 in Europe. However most European pumps deliver 95 (RON) as "regular", equivalent to 90-91 US (R+M)/2, and even deliver 98 (RON) or 100 (RON).
...
In many parts of Europe, 95 RON (90-91 AKI) is the minimum available and the standard, with 97/98 being premium or "super". In other countries, like Italy, "regular" leaded gasoline, when still available, is sometimes as low as 85 RON (with unleaded still generally around 95 and premium around 98.)
so their 98 might be like our 93...

I wish we could get away with aluminum heads in the super stock class...
