I seen a module on ebay that claims up to 90 plus hp for our PSD's. It was only 75 bucks, so I got one. It is a six position unit. It appears to work by directly splicing a wire into the blue w/ green striped wire that goes to the fuel pressure module. I am assuming it is getting it's "gains" by increasing the fuel pressure. I want to know if there is a "danger" in doing this before I hook it up?

Reason: misspelled words
Dont do it. You are probably getting junk. You get what you pay for with this trucks. If you are wanting more power. Check out www.dp-tuner.com. do a search with dp tuner. You will see nothing but praises
Welcome to the forum.. The guys here are pretty knowledgeable on whats good and whats bad for your engine...I would be real careful on what I would use to get more HP and torque. You can cause alot of damage real quick.. Spend alittle more and get the tuner mentioned above. I would maybe think about reselling it on ebay. The first think to spend your money on are the 3 gauges.. boost, exhaust temp and trans temp (for auto's).

Are you sure it does this by increasing fuel pressure or HPO pressure? Sure sounds like a 10k mod or whatever K mod. There are different ones and they increase pressure in the oil rails in the head thus increasing the PSI of the fuel injected. As mentioned, a good chip will do this among other things like alter the tranny pressures and shift points to deal with the changes.
The seller's feedback is excellent, most really like the product, but i too would be a little hesitant. 1400 products sold, since when, and how do you get a hold of them now?
I am fairly new to the "diesel" world. I am fairly mechanically inclined, but dont like to mess with stuff, (electronics in particular), that I dont really have allot of knowledge about, so making one myself is and was out of the question...Just thought maybe one of you had installed this unit or one simular that does the same thing and shed some knowledge before I screw something up..lol
What it does(in my mind), it fools the PCM into thinking it doesnt have enough oil pressure from the HPOP so it tells it to bump up pressure. That one just has a few different resistors in it to create a desired effect. When you have a chip burned from DP, Elite etc, they incorporate that into the tune makes that box useless.
Your hypertech may or may not do it to some extent. ITs better know as a 10K mod or 18K mod and usally create an odd idle and i think cruise control gets messed up also.
I wouldnt use it just get a chip while its a bit more money its worth it. Building that box, is fairly easy still even with limited knowledge. Im not the best at electronics, but i could build one.
all right, thank you, just guessing, the 18k, you are adding a resister in, 10k, ect? what he is doing then is giving you multiple resisters to choose from, a selector switch dialing up each value, instead of just tossing a pot on and playing with it..
