That is a nice rig!! Thanx for the reply, I do believe I will try to switch the gears. Not sure, the 4.30, or the 4.56 probably the same as far as economy goes. My truck empty is probably heavier than most due to a steel flat bed with tool boxes (the homade seel kind) full of tools. I know something needs to be done, I cannot set the cruise at 70 and go up and down small hills in East Texas without the tranny kicking dn., and that is empty. My C/K 2500 with 185000 and 6.0 with auto and 4.11 would stay in OD. Being a Ford man this does not make me happy, but overall I am VERY PLEASED with my truck. Anyone could share maybe the best place to get a ring and pinion and whatever else that may be required. Much appreciated

I used to own a 7.3L cab & chassis with a steel bed and you're right, they are heavy and like a frigging parachute on the highway. I'd go with 56s in the V10 for sure.
I been buying my parts from www.dc4wd.com. for over five years. DC is great to deal with and has awesome prices. Buy some yukon gears/master install kit and have them installed at a local reputable shop. Oh,and ask for all your old parts back.
