Hazard Lights Malfunctioning?

Hazard Lights Malfunctioning?
I installed a new hazard light switch on my '84 E150 and they work fine except when you step on the brakes they go solid. What could be causing this?

This is normal. The flashers, both turnsignal and hazard, work on current load of the bulbs. When you step on the brake, you are introducing voltage from the brake switch into the circuit. This lessens the load on the hazards and they quit blinking.
