Engine internals, same from 94.5-2003?

Engine internals, same from 94.5-2003?
I found a couple of core long block engines for a reasonable price and want to know if the internals are the same from 94.5-03. I'm looking for something to possibly start a drop in build up on incase of catostophic failure of my 01. Also, are the earlier engines forged rod engines?

The internals of the engine are close enough to the same that you wouldn't notice the difference, but building up a drop in motor would require you to use a 99+ engine as the injectors, HPOP, and fuel delivery systems, along with the wiring harness are not the same.

If youre building a drop-in motor with a few goodies, try hard to get a late 1999, 2000 or early 2001 with the forged rods. They have the largest HPOP, Forged rods, and can support 450+hp without any internal modifications.
