I had some wiring problems during installation of my gauges. I want to make sure my gauge is working right. When I turned the key the needle went to zero then up to about 100 I think. I started the truck and after about a minute it went to 400. I just reved it up for a little bit and the temp went to almost 600 then it settled back close to 400. I turned the truck off and the gauge stayed at about 400. I turned the key again and the needle went to zero then back up to 400. Does this sound like normal operation?
Lifes been good, have not seen you around lately, must be busy. Hope life has been treating you as well. Autometer (the only brand of aftermarket gauges I have used) all do that. The tach I had on my Sportster used to just point the needle where ever when you cut the ignition off. When you turned the ign. on it would go back to zero. The difference in the EGT gauge would be that the manifold has not cooled off yet in this case, so it technically don't zero, it is reading the temp when powered up. Or the ambient temp of the exhaust manifold, which will never be zero in the case of a thermocouple.

Yup, busy and distracted. Life is offering both the good and the bad, so all is as it should be. The truck lost the #2 and #4 injector + the EGR last week, but the warranty was honored. I was a little freaked, but it all worked out. The tune is GREAT! I'm glad that you too are in Gods hands, my friend.
