I was underneath my dad's 77 F-150 4x4 today. I rotated the front driveshaft with my hands, (it's in 2x4 now) and only the left output shaft on the Dana 44 rotated. niether of the lockers were engaged. I was just wondering if this is normal, or if something could be wrong.
With an open front diff, it sounds perfectly normal. Lock the "locking hub" of the side that turns, and apin the driveshaft again. The other axle should turn. Then lock the other side, and neither axle will turn, nor will the driveshaft. Unlock them, and the driveshaft will spin free again, and possibly only one axle, but it is normal.
