short trips

I'm getting ready to start a new house and it's litteraly about 2 blocks down from me, but I need my tools every day and can't leave 'em on the site. So me question is, is it better to just run it to the site(only takes about 2 mins.) or, I'm thinking of putting in upfitter switches and when I get there, flipping on the high idle for a while to get it up to temp before I shut it down. I'm not sure if either is a better option or not and would like your input. The reason for my concern is that I'm gonna be on this house for about 3 months. Thanks for your input.

reefman,

Probably 6-1, half dozen to other. If it was me, when you finish the job at the end of the take take a longer drive home and blow out the cob webs and stress from both you and the truck

I agree with blackhat, if your going to burn the fuel you might as well drive it and put a load on it. High idle does not exercise the turbo but your foot will!

Good excuse to buy a tool trailer and leave it on site, if you're allowed, and just walk to work. I don't know what I'd do without my tool trailer.
