I'm wanting to raise the front up about 2", And I'm not sure on what i should use.
After doing a search about just replacing the front shackles with taller one, I'm finding most don't recommend them. ( WHY ? ) Their recommending using a add-a-leaf kit.
So has anyone replaced their front shackles on their PSD with taller one with out any problems.
Looking for any suggestions if i should use them from the PSD guys.
PM, Rampage_F350, he just did this a couple of weeks ago and it looks great. He can also tell you who he orderd the shackles from(ebay IIRC) he said it was a pretty easy install.
Replacing the rear connection of the front springs, the "shackles", with longer ones, will throw off your suspension and steering geometry. It may make the truck wander and steer funny. Use at your own discretion. I would opt for a new leaf pack or a spring hanger. I bought Dick Cepek springs (springs only) off ebay for $200 plus $50 shipping. Real easy install because i've done it 3-4 times, and they ride great. New too.
the above is correct, and remember that to get 2" of lift from a shackle youd need a 4" longer shackle. thats getting pretty long. especially for these heavy *** front ends.
IMHO, I Don't think it is a good idea to do the hanger's/shackle type lifts. The springs are suffering from fatigue from the weight of the Diesel Motors. If you look at the springs on your truck they have a negative arc. This is not good . If you've ever looked at or remember your truck when it was new the springs were level or close to it. Now they've begun to sag. If you do the spring pack leveling kit w/ shocks you will find the ride to be much improved and the handling will also be greatly improved. No more porpoising or bottoming out on your bump stops either. Hope this helps yah out..Take care now....Country

Due to my saggy springs and my 305's rubbing my thicker than normal Duraflaps, I opted to try them. I have a winch, grill and brush guard combo so I believe they put me back to a stock height. The shackles gave me 1.5 inches (no more rubbing) with no ill steering effects, so far. $65 from fleabay. These guys are correct about the front springs on our mules, they have little to be desired.
