The 5.8L 351 Windsor (FI) on my F-250 threw a rod, and I've located a few replacements, but I keep running into 2 options: air lines through the block, or air lines through the manifold. I located a cluster of air lines that enter a steal 'pipe' going into the manifold on top.. does anyone know if this is what I'm looking for? Apparently they're 'air injection' lines. Thanks for any help anyone can offer.
There are alot of vacuum lines on the motors and an air injection tubes that run alot the side and back of the motor. The basic block is still the same on the 351's including most if not all the manifold items. The biggest differences where the routing of the air injection tube and vacuum lines. If your motor is still in place just note where all the emissions items are and just swap them over to the replacement block.
yes this is what your looking for
your truck has the air injection in the manifolds
as you have found out there is also an injection system
that bollts to the heads direct (at the back of the head)
if you purchase an engine with the incorrect heads all
you will need to do is swap out the heads after a valve job
you will do a valve job at this point won't you?
