OK to remove PS box without hoisting?
Chilton says to hoist before unbolting steering box
from frame and drag link. Anyone know why? I have
a 3 1/2" susp. lift and a 2" body lift and it just
looks to my untrained eyes like there would be no problem
just reaching under and doing it without any lifting
at all. Am at home, no fancy garage equip. Thanks,

OK to remove PS box without hoisting?
I was able to get the PS box out without hoisting.
Out of many minor problems I had, the only one
that seemed related to hoisting was getting
the drag link and drag link to pitman arm bolt
off of the pitman arm. It was stuck on and
I finally tapped it a couple of times very gently
with a hammer before it loosened. Also, I took
off the front driver's side wheel to do the work
and this helped very much.
