saving gas

Just thought I would pass this on. I have a 99 f350 4x4 and usually get about 500 mile to tank (38 gal) I started driving a little bit slower keeping my speed about 65 mph and keeping it under 2000 rpms especially under acceleration. Im getting about 100 miles more out of my tank since I changed my driving habits. Drive slow and save gas. Im tried of the high gas prices. Gilbert

Gilbert,
That's a pretty impressive stat. 20% more mpg than before, from 13ish to almost 16! What they all say about using the skinny pedal works for sure

Tell us if you are getting the same results constantly. Still.........I bet you had a big grin on your face when you noticed how much farther you went on a tank, and the fact you saved some green.

Farmboy, I sure did smile. I never really got good gas mileage out my truck but I had read on this site that keeping it under 2000 rpm's and changing my driving habits would help and it does. I need to change my air filter and gas filter so im excited to see if I get any more miles after I change the filters. I'll let you know what happens. Give it a try, you will get some more miles.
