It will work, but you will have to add SCA's and constantly monitor and maintain them. If you use the Motorcraft Premium Gold that came in the truck it has the SCA's built in, and is good for 50K miles between changes. Also buy and use distilled water to add to the cooling system as it does not leave the mineral deposits that tap water does.
That link you sent....is that pre-mixed or full strength?
What are SCA's?
The link is full strength, to my knowledge FMC does not sell pre-mixed.
Supplemental Coolant Additive (SCA) it is used in coolant in diesel engines to help prevent premature wear of the engine block at the water jackets around the cylinders do to cavitation and the formation of air bubbles in these areas do to the high compression ratios a diesel engine oprates at. If the SCA's are not in the coolant and maintained at proper levels, cavitation will occur resulting in holes in the water jackets adjacent to the cylinder walls.
SCA's provide a protective coating on the water jackets that resisits corrosion of the water jackets. Without the SCA's providing this protective coating the wear occurs rapidly.
With the Motorcraft Premium Gold coolant the SCA's are in the mix and you do not have to worry about them between scheduled antifreeze changes. If you use a coolant without SCA's included, then you have to add supplement SCA's and perodically (every 6-months) test the SCA levels with a test kit and add more as needed.
