300 i6 Manifold Mounting Help

I'm having a small issue. I put a new manifold, both intake and exhaust, in my 85 F150. I was tightening down the bolts from the inside out, as the manual requires. When I got to lower right bolt, I realized I couldn't get my socket on it. Seems that the manifold is not clearing the bolt. Has anyone eles had this problem? Suggestions?

Some sockets have thicker walls than others. I have some old Craftsmans sockets with thin walls. 3/8 inch drive sockets are smaller than 1/2 inch sockets. I find old odd ball tools at the hock/pawn shop. I used the 3/8 inch drive. Did you replace the alignment pin on the intake manifold that aligns up with the hole in the head? The only other alignment aid that I know of is the last top bolt hole towards the rear of the motor. I mounted my manifold with this large clearance hole topped out, that is I pushed the manifold up as far as I could on this large clearance hole. I had clearance problems with bolts on the bottom back when I did not have the manifolds pushed up. I wish I could have seen how well the ports aligned. Anybody have any good advice for port alignment? So you put new manifolds on. Are they stock? Some aftermarket items have to be massaged with a grinder.
