V10 break in
I have a 2006 V10 with approximately 5600 miles on the clock. My mileage (32' motorhome) has been in the 6.5 to 7.1 MPG range. I have heard that Ford has these engnes running in a detuned state until after some predetermined number of break in miles at which time the computer resets allowing the engine to make full power amd the mileage improves. Does anyone know if this is true? And if it is true, at what number of miles does it happen?

Not sure if Ford really has a de tune mode or not... but ... we all seem to agree that around 150 hours or 7 to 9 thousand miles is where the motor wakes up and makes NOTICEABLY more power.... I do not believe in the 150 hour de tune mode
