ok, so i was messing with it today....i push the button and hold it down and the dash says zone 8....hmmmm, i'm still confused about what it does....

The real answer, drumroll please....., is that the button is used for adjusting/calibrating the compass.

If you hold it long enough, it will reset and you will have to drive in a bunch of circles ("no more than 5 times at no more than 3 mph") in a metal free area to recalibrate it.

Zone 8 is not correct for PA, by the way, Zone 10 for the west half and Zone 11 for the east half, approximately.
