Tranny Cooler
Towed the boat this past weekend for the first time since installing gauges. Up some pretty big hills with the 4,000lb camper and 4,000lb boat at about 85 degrees air temp I was hitting 195. Time to upgrade the tranny cooler. I see the Tru-cool Ford V-10 set up diesel site has that replaces the stock cooler. Has anyone installed this? Or should I just go with the Tru-cool 4739 and leave the stock cooler alone? Anyone have any pics of tranny cooler installs? I need to get ready for a trip to Lake Powell, so I need to get this done pretty soon. Will the Dieselsite V-10 set up be enough?

i would keep the stock cooler and add the tru-cool. the v-10 cooler is a little bigger than the stock PSD one (like 14 rows instead of 9) if you put the tru-cool on you for sure will not have any overheated problems

I plumbed the trucool cooler in series with my factory trans cooler/ I went from tranny-out into factory cooler out of factory/ into Trucool/ out of Trucool into trans return line. Got mine from Dieselsite... Tru-Cool 4739 Max without thermal bypass for 115.50. Also did Sonnax kit. No trans gauge yet but have more piece of mind now.
