You have an M5OD transmission with a cologne V6 bellhousing. So you can interchange with other cologne V6's (2.8, 2.9, 4.0,...). Most people will tell you not to "go backwards" and put in a TK or Mitsubishi tranny from the '80's, which pretty much leaves you putting in another M5OD from a '90's Ranger/Explorer. I haven't kept up on what transmissions have been used where in the 2000+ model year, but some of those may fit as well.
