AC Problems need help

I have a 99 f-250 SD PSD
My ac unit blows out cold air for alittle bit then it blows out hot air. If I turn it off and let it sit for a little bit when I turn it back on it blows ice cold. Any Ideas on what could be going on

What is your fan position when this happens?
1. The cycle switch could be bad letting the evap coil freeze up.
2. If it occurs in traffic it could be a bad fan clutch not condensing the refrigerant properly.
I'm sure there are other things but I would look at this first. If it is the cycle switch it should occur when the fan is on lower speeds. If it is the fan clutch the truck may run hot in traffic.

Need to have the pressures checked to see what they are , they could be off enough to kick the compressor out, that eliminates the fan clutch though
