Hey Guys, I have a ? about the seats in my '74 F-250 Ranger XLT. The seats that are in the truck as far as i know are the originals they have always been in it. Ive been trying to find an Upholstery kit or at least a good looking seat cover for the seat wich is a bench seat with a split back. Ive looked at all my local auto parts stores and even checked with LMC ( been great for finding what i need) but no luck. Looking in the LMC catalog it doesnt show a bench seat for the F250 with a split back. However it shows the 78-79 Bronco having one. Does anyone know where to look, or if they did come with this type of bench seat. The Upholstery places in my town are a lil pricey for the work. Any help is appreciated guys.
As far as i know the only way to get a split back was in a Bronco or a Supercab so it might not be the original. Just a tidbit of info. All the seats share the same width up to 97 i think its the year. All you need to do is get a good seat and bolt your track on it. No fab required. And youll be set. Just an idea if your not dead set on the factory seat.
i'm looking to do the same type of swap with mine. seat covers move and never stay on. try a trip to the salvage yard, if your lucky you can get away with a good seat and cheap.
Hemmings Motor News has several upholstery suppliers for ORIGINAL seat upholstery. It's genuine Ford NOS overstock, and already made up and ready to be installed. Look for seller: Original Auto Upholstery...they are in Troy Michigan..
