Anyone have any helpful hints or tips on installing a pro comp steering stabilzer? I just got one and I am having a hard time matching the instructions with the brackets and parts.
Did you get this project done? If no, did your truck come with a factory stabilizer? If it did not, then the brackets you were/are looking for may not be there. I have the dual stabilzer kit from Superlift, aside from having to lop a small tab of metal off the knuckle with my sawzall it was a 20 minute job. If you got the single kit then you will have to mount the connecting bracket with the u-bolts to the trac bar.
I got it installed. It was just a single kit. There was no factory stabilizer on the truck, and the mounting bracket was bent, but after staring at it for a while I got it put on. It makes a HUGE difference.

I'm not familiar with the subject. What does a steering stabilizer do? Stop wander? Remove slack in the steering wheel?

stops bump steer. if you were to offroad you would hit numerous bumps. the steering stabilizer helps dampen the amount of bumps your front tires encounter so your steering wheel doesn't jump from side to side.

Put the Rough Country stabilizer in today. Peace of cake, only problem was the fixed bracket in the car that was bent in little bit.
I did not have the stabilizer on the car and could not see any marks either. So obviously some 4x4's have it and some don't.
It made a big difference when offroading, did a short test drive in the track.
It does not hit the steering wheel off your hands anymore if hitting some holes or rocks etc.
