The 2 links below go to a pic of a rod that is on the frame rail close to my back shock on an 86 f150 4X4. There is 1 rod & bracket on each side of the truck. I have looked through suspension breakdowns & cannot find out where they are sussposed to go. Any help is appericated.
Yeah there is one on each side of the truck & both exhaust pipes run along the passenger side. Probally 1 1/2 inches of threads on the end of the rod. kinda looks like an old end to a shock, but I do not see any where for a shock to hook up. Thanks for the reply.

i believe those are the connecting rods to a rear axle stabilizer bar. the bar bolts to the rear ax;e with u bolts and the ends hook to these rods, giving your rear axle better stability.
Yes it has Dual front shocks. The pic you posted looks like it could be the part thats missing. I will have to start scouring the junk yards again. It is also 4X4. Thanks for the replys Mike & Dave.

looks like the typical tracbar type setup for a rear axle... if you do towing i'd suggest hookin it all back up for less wear and tear on the axle/suspension and drivetrain
It looks like 1980 thru 1996 f150's had the same type linkage, so "Maybe" I will get lucky & find one at my local junk yard. I surely don't want to spend the price of a new one. Thanks for the reply.
