Ok, here is my problem. We have a 99 F-350 and sometimes we will be going on a long trip. We stop at a fuel station, and all they have is diesel for 18 wheelers. As you may know the filler for the 18 wheelers is bigger than the standard diesel filler therefore we can't get diesel there. Does anyone know a way to eliminate this problem? can I put a bigger neck on it to accomadate the bigger size. As always any help is greatly appreciated
I believe the reason your truck has a smaller neck is to keep you from using one of those high flow pumps. Your owners manual should have a blurb in it about how fast your tank can take fuel, and its no where near as fast as the big nozzle pumps put it out.

Here's the cure to your fillup problem. Loosen the screwclamp which holds the filler neck to the tank (there is a rubber like hose overlapping the fuel tank neck and the filler neck. Loosen the smaller screwclamp which holds the tank breather to the filler neck. Take out the three little screws which are just behind your fuel filler door. Now you can take the fuel-filler neck out of the truck. Now just take a punch or a piece of steel and knock the restrictor out that is inside the fuel filler neck. Reinstall and you'll be able to fillup at any diesel pump. Hope this helps...

Not that I see ...I have modified the filler neck and I can pump fuel like a demon at the truckstops larger nozzles.
I have a funnel I purchased at a flying J truck stop years ago & it keys into the neck & works very well I have never seen anouther one though but if any one sees them they work great! I think BLITZ products made it.
