Hey everybody,
I'm new to posting here, but I've read quite alot of topics, lots of knowledge here! I have an 86 F-150 XLT 302 EFI. It has dual front shocks which aren't listed in the repair manuals, any information about that? Also, I'm currently trying to fix it's gas problem, it sucks gas like crazy, please check out that thread here.

yes it does have 4wd, do you know the name of the "package" on the truck with dual front shocks? and the changes they made on the basic model with this package??
thanks for the comments on the rims and paint, the paint is actually original that has been touched up here and there
My '85 F-150 4x4 is an "Explorer" package, and also has the dual front shocks. From what I've been able to gather, it's the HD (Heavy Duty) package that came with those. Mostly for towing and the like.
A friend has an '87 F-150 4x4 that also has the dual shocks. Both of our trucks have what look like factory installed lift blocks on the rear springs, too... One interesting side-note to that. Visibly, our trucks look like they're twin brothers (aside from the cosmetic differences on the sheetmetal), but mine rides EXTREMELY nice, while his rides like a typical 4x4. Possibly because mine's a 351W and his is a 300 I-6, or maybe just age on the springs. I don't know.
I've noticed that very few trucks around here seem to have them, but they're all 4WD. About one in ten from what I've personally witnessed.
