Here's another one. Without looking at the VIN, or raising the hood, how can you tell a 1965 Mustang that was made before 8/23/64 from one made after that date?
Minor differences in the shape of the leading edge of the hood and headlite doors is what I`m thinking.
I have never had an early 65 except for a parts car and the minor differences are a major pain, for example the wiring harness is quite different under the hood just because it has a generator.
I found this out the hard way when things weren`t working out.....

So far you've found out there are TWO Mustang hoods, but the headlight doors are the same. And yes, generator cars use ALL different wiring harnesses-main loom, headlamp loom, engine gauge feed loom, generator loom and rear lamp loom...and the turn signal switch...but there's more, much more. A couple of things are just plain silly--you ask yourself--why would Ford change...?
