Cluster Swap

I just swapped my instrument cluster with one with a tach. My truck is a 93 and the cluster was from a 92(The description on ebay said it was from 93, but written on the bottom is 92 F250). Everything seems to work ok except for the emergency brake light. The bulb itself works, when I start the truck the light flashes for a second while cranking. However with the e brake pushed down the light doesnt come on. I recall it working before the cluster swap. It isn't too big of a deal. Was just wondering if there was something I could do to fix it. One other notable difference is my old cluster just said "ABS" the new one says "Rear ABS".

92 & 93 should be wired the same and cluster should be the same.

Any ideas where I should start looking to see why the light doesn't come on with the parking brake on?

On a side note, I've been doing some reading onm the forums about 1G and 3G(etc etc) Alternators. The one thing I can't figure out is what flavor the one I have is. The truck is a 1993 F150 XLT. I have been having some small fluctuations in the electrical power and will be testing the alt soon. If it is bad, I would like to swap a 3G in if that's not what would replace anyway. This is the one autozone recommends and the one I have looks just like it. http://www.autozone.com/R,APP183191/...ductDetail.htm

just as subford said, 92-93 are the same. I would check the switch at the pedal first.

You can tell the difference between a 2g and 3g at a glance. If the cooling fan for the alternator is right behind the pulley, external to the case, it is a 2g. If the fan is inside the case and hard to see, it is 3g.
