Checking engine codes

Well I pulled the codes and I got an EGR code for the valve not seating correctly. So i proceeded to remove it. When I went to remove the EGR tube the Bottom lf the EFR valve broke off. SO now I have removed the upper intake and removed the EGR tube. Then I figured I might as well remove the right hand exhaust manifold to check to see if it was cracked or just a blown gasket. At least it came off with out breaking a bolt and it was just the gasket. So now I have decided to go ahead and remove the smog pump system since i do not have emission requirements where I live and all this started from trying figure out why i had an erratic idle. I guess thats's what I get for running 100LL Av Gas.
