Tire Size

I have a 1994 F150 XLT 2wd Ext Cab 4r70w

It has 235/75 x 15 tires on it (28 inch)

I see everyone posting about 32", 33" and 34" tires.

What was originally furnished on my truck ??

My truck seems geared for pulling a trailer with more power than I need. I'd prefer better gas milage.

Do 32" tires usually mean 16" rims ??

Doesn't this affect the speedometer ??

with 1994 F150 XLT 2wd I think you can go to 31s with out rubbing your truck came with 235/75 x 15 tires on it (28 inch) it should be on the door tag.

Stock tires on your truck should have been what you have now.....235/75-15

The 32's "etc" are the 4-wheeling guys talking about their big mudders....us 2-wheelers still pretty much talk in "regular" tire sizes.
I run 255/70-15 on mine and they fill up the wheel well nicely which is what I wanted.

Gas mileage on my 302 (5.0) is 16-17 which is pretty much maxed out for these trucks. Keeping it tuned up and filters clean, getting more air in it by using K&N or that type of filter and having your exhaust done to open it up is what will really affect mpg.......tires very little.

Taller or bigger tires will change the speedometer....in my case at 65 on the meter I'm actually going 66.5.

Someone on here had a calculator for seeing what your tire size did to your actual speed....I can't find it now but maybe they'll post it again.

Hope this helps.......Good Luck

To answer your question: no you wouldn't need 16 inch rims to run 32" tires. I run 33" rubbers on 15" wheels.
