Tire size question.
I am contemplating putting some nice polished aluminum wheels on my truck. I am looking at the Mickey Thompson Classic II or Classic Lock series. My question it the tire size. I notice that they make the wheels in the 16" and the original 16.5" size. I have always ran the 9.50 X 16.5 tires on my truck. Is there any advantage staying with the old 16.5 or going to the 16" wheel?
Now don't get carried away guys. I don't go mudding and I don't want to jack the truck up twelve feet off of the ground. This thing is used strictly as a daily driver and to tow a 5th wheel around the country. I use regular street tires 9.50 X 16.5 load range D or better. Thanks in advance for you ideas and help. Gary
I would pop for new tires and wheels and call it good.
I think 16.5 tires and wheels are going to be harder and harder to find.
I am sure you see the bigger wheel trend growing by the minute.
Just my opinion. Plus some of the new tires seem to match the shiny wheels better these days.
