i was going to keep this to myself, as i post way to many things that i can get harassed for. this was too funny to to hide.
i was going to put my lawn tractor, and gas cans on the f-150 to go 1/16 of a mile to the Mobil station. i, in my huge sense of smarter than most, say screw that. i'll just hook up the trailer to the mower to carry the cans. i know gas is high and if i take the truck it'll cost me $50 'cause i'll fill it also.
well i got stopped because the sheriff saw me on the sidewalk. he gets out, checks the mower and trailer and asks where i'm going. i tell him(at this point i could spit in the station lot) and he asks why i'm on the tractor. i ask him "how much did it cost the county to fill that cruiser when you started your shift officer?". he laughs, says good point, and be careful.
well, 2 5 gal cans and the 3 gal tank on the mower, $47. had i taken the truck....$147. lenny1carl being an idiot....Priceless
We have a guy in our town who is somewhat mentally handicapped, and he rides his mower to the gas station all the time.He wears a motorcycle helmet and has turn signals on his tractor. He is the nicest guy you would ever meet.If you like, maybe I can set up a race between you and him.Be warned though, all of us service techs help this guy out whenever he needs it,and Im sure I could bolt on a nitro kit!
i seen this thread and thought to myself "yup he got an overweight ticket for hauling sassy around" ok i know i know it was lame but i had to share my deranged thought. dont feel to bad lenny1carl the other day i needed a couple bolts from town 4miles away,i jumped in the 92 it was at a 1/4 tank the 71 was about the same so i took my old nuffield tractor instead its the cheapest runin thing i own
King.... a Sassy shot and i think you might be calling my 'challenged". ok i'm challenged but my poor Sas has to be one of the most abused dogs on the net. she's gorgeous and needs support.
ok, it may require a crane but fat dogs have feelings also. so do daddy's of large dogs.

Shoot, people roll down the road on quads where I live at to the nearest gas stop. They buy bait there too - and roll up tobacca, cigarettes, and cigars.
(Not to mention Buttwasher, V8 juice, sandwiches, gas for the boat, and Sodas)
Glenn Springs Lake is right up the road - half the time they already have a cooler and poles!
To my mind this seems ridiculous to me - VIOLATIONS ought to be taken in context

Early in your post you said, "i know gas is high and if i take the truck it'll cost me $50 'cause i'll fill it also". In the final sentence you said, "well, 2 5 gal cans and the 3 gal tank on the mower, $47. had i taken the truck....$147". I know that the price of gas is rising quickly, but it appears that it doubled on your way to the station.
Lenny atleast you were going for gas. My uncle used to snag my granddads Ford 6000 tractor to go to the package store 6 miles away. That tractor had more road miles than some cars. Seems like granddad was always replacing tires on it.
i didn't know how high it was at my station. i hadn't been there in a month. plus i figured for $20 in the truck. i was kidding about $147.

up by my house upstate there aretwo very large guys who ride their tractors all over the place ( lawn tractors) Its kinda ammusing to watch em go thorugh the Wendys drivethru.. Id prolly have done the same thing, lenny
My first motor vehicle was a Whizzer motor bike and I used to keep gas in it by draining the residual gas left in the hoses at the pumps (I was 11 years old). I could make the rounds of the service stations and put enough gas in the little one gallon tank to last a couple of days. If the price keeps going up, we may see some adults resorting to this method .
