One time it was a Model type photo ..this time it is a .....Female Automotive techinican.

Here's the story.

Red Deer College has experienced the largest student registration for its trades programs.

Last Friday, about 1,000 students registered for programs including welding, water well driller, sprinkler fitter, cook, locksmith and rig technician, parts technician and wire process operator.

“There is remarkable demand in industry throughout all of Alberta,” said Jim Madder, executive vice president of academic at Red Deer College. “It’s wonderful to have those students here and it’s great to be able to respond to the demand.”

He added about 400 seats were added to the welding program and to the heavy equipment program at Red Deer College this year.

In addition, Red Deer College officially opened its automotive service technician shop recently.

It’s the first building to be completed in the College’s Building Communities Through Learning expansion.

A project that will cost $110 million.

Tim Devries, 30, who registered for his second year of welding at Red Deer College last week said the expansion to the trades facilities is exciting.

“It’s really great to see,” he said.

Devries added he’s enjoyed being a student in the welding program at Red Deer College.

“There’s good instructors, lots of hands on teaching and there has been lots of theory but it’s been good – I’ve really enjoyed it.”

Red Deer College will train over 3,800 apprentices this year.

I was just letting them know..that this kind of stuff is regularily in My Life.

I have helped her with several repairs in her Dad's shop and she more than willing to get her hands dirty.
