Speaker size modification.

Anyone have success modifying the rear door cut outs for 6x9 speakers? The online places list 6x8's for the rear doors on a F350 super cab. I have a nice set of 6x9's from an old car that I's like to fit into this truck to enhance the sound.

Thanks........Mark

The 6x8 hole is shallow so it is rare that a 6x9 will fit the depth.
Best start measuring the drivers you got before pulling out the cutting tools.

Nothing says they have to go back in the stock location. Intercept the wires before the door and put them under or behind a seat.

Thanks guys, I have some 6x8's from my Thunderbird but they don't have the bass of the 6x9's (not that 6x9's are that good compared to today's standards.). I just don't want to spend a lot of $$$ on vehicle we'll only drive 4K a year. I have these laying and want to put them to use. They'll definately sound better then the stock speakers though.

Thanks again..........Mark

I have 6x9's in my truck's rear doors , no problem installing them , plenty of depth , minimum cutting , just make sure you have a good set of tin snips , easy install, I put the alpine 6x9 3 ways in mine , sounds much better than the 6x8's , Craig.

That's good to know... Thanks 350z.

Did you do a sub in the back anywhere?
