Rancho shock questions

ok i'm planning a 2-3inch lift for my 89XLT. I'm also planning to purchase some rancho shocks to soften the ride. Will the 5000's be a good choice here? I do some off roading, but it's mostly my daily driver. I take it the stock size shocks will work with the lift? Thanks for any help

Tony

Rancho shock questions

The 5000's might be a little tight for Ya, for mild off-road and mostly street I think the reflex or 9000's will give the better on-road ride and still be "tough" enough for mild off-road(9000's for sure). Reflex is a self adjusting the 9000's are 5-speed adjustable. You should measure the movement of the suspension to make sure the shocks will not bottom or in your case top out(extend to the max, thus puttin' the stress on the top mount if the suspension can move farther than the shock allows). This will also keep the shock in it's most effective range, centered for the stroke lenght. Chuck P.
