Is it possible that the plug for my brake controller under my dash is brown. I keep reading that most of them are grey. I have a 2000 F250. The brown plug I'm talking about is right behind the panel under the steering wheel and it seems like the only place it will fit. I have wired up a Tekonsha Voyager with a wiring harness for a FORD from the RV dealer and I'm not getting any response from the brake controller. Should I check fuses? Or should it just work when I plug it in. I know that my trailer has to be hooked up which I did, and I'm getting all my signals to the trailer from the 7 pin connector(blinkers, running and brake lights). But I am not getting a green light on the brake controller it self. Any Help PLEASE I need to tow this trailer tommorow. I am going to check the connections between the controller and the pigtail harness again. Also on the voyager there are four wires (red, black, blue, and white) and on the wiring harness from the RV dealer there are the same color wires, is it not safe for me to assume that you just connect up the corrosponding colors(which is what I did)?
The plug you want is grey and it's behind the radio. If you remove the fuse panel below the steering column and look up towards the back of the radio you'll see the right plug. I don't know what you have it plugged into now.
Really, the plug that I plugged it into is kind of attached the the steering column right behind that panel and it fit. WOW I hope I didnt screw anyhting up. Isn't strange that there is a plug right there that looks like it would be it. But it is brown. The wiring harness I got from the RV dealer was brown too So I figured it had to be it. So I should look up towards the radio and its definatly gray OK Thank You.
