'54 Ford Panel, Diesel Engine?

Just lost my '05 E350 diesel van to a rollover and the crazy thought that the 6.0 might fit into the panel seems to cheer me up. Has any one done this or heard of it being done?

The engine bay is big enough to hold a tank engine, so why not!?!? You already own the donor (or can probably buy it real cheap from the insurance co.), I'd say go for it.

I've never seen it done but have always wanted to do it. If you can, you must. and when you are done, tell us how you did it.

I have seen one F1 with a Cummins diesel. The truck was pretty ragged out but cool nevertheless.

There was a 56 crew-cab dually at the Nats with a Cummins in it and a 56 COE with a PSD. Not many people are putting diesels in the effies yet, but I'm working on putting a 5 cyl. Mercedes turbo diesel in my 53.
I'll try to get some pics up this weekend, work and classes have kept me from it so far this week.
